Your Anxious Teen: Chaos to Calm

Share

Hi there,
I don’t know if you even realise that you have mum guilt or how it may be affecting how you respond when your teenager is acting up.
Personally, I sort of did, but I didn’t know how to change how I reacted. In fact, the longer the anxiety went on, the more I was terrified to put any boundaries in place. The fear of ‘pushing them over the top’ outweighed the NEED to put in boundaries.
When I tried there was always a lot of shouting, tantrums and blaming me for how he felt.
The more I tried to find solutions for him, the more he seemed to refuse to do anything that might help him.
It seemed bizarre when he kept saying that he wanted to get better, however did nothing to help himself….
