The Human Bean Project is the love child of two former nurses, both with career and lived experience of mental illness.
Kel Brealey and Lisa, the project’s founders, have created a community venture with the aim of reducing the isolating effects of mental illness.
For a small donation (which covers the cost of supplies), members of the public can drop in, share a yarn, a tea or coffee, and reconnect on a human level.
Their hope is that by allowing people a safe place to talk, without fear of judgement, that it just might ease some of the symptoms of mental illness as well as reduce the stigma associated with it.
Tune in, invite your friends to watch, and share this broadcast – you never know who might either in a position to help, or even require the assistance of this service!
